Montessori Activity: Placing Elastic Bands on Peg Board

Idea from Sugar and Spices...

Age: From 2.5 years old

Objectives:

1. To train fine motor skills.
2. To teach shapes

Materials:

1. Fanta Colour peg board pegged and turned inverted
2. 1 bowl with rubber bands
3. 1 tray

Directions:

1. Show your child how to place the elastic bands onto the peg board.
2. As you show, talk about the shape of the elastic bands you have made.
3. Invite your child to try.

Additional Information:

I am planning the Montessori activities for the coming week and came across this idea from Sugar and Spices. J has been fascinated by rubber bands recently, thus this activity would be ideal. Sugar and Spices used a geoboard, but since I have a fanta colour peg board, I use this instead. Looking forward to let J try it :-)
