Broccoli Salad with Honey

Ingredients:

1. 1 head of broccoli sliced into florets
2. 1/2 red onion sliced
3. A handful of chopped walnuts or sunflower seeds
4. 1 TBS raisins
5. 2 TBS creme fraiche 18% fat
6. 1 tsp honey
7. 1 TBS lemon juice (optional)
8. Salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

1. Add all ingredients in a mixing bowl, stir and mix well. Taste and adjust with more creme fraiche as desired.

2. Best to rest in the fridge for 30 minutes before serving.

Additional Information:

We love the broccoli salad from Den Sunde Køkken restaurant and takeaway. It is so simple to make, with very simple dressing, basically broccoli and two other ingredients - creme fraiche and honey. It is very healthy too.

Montessori Activity: Dressing Basket

Inspired by Counting Coconuts

Age: From 3 years old

Materials:

1. Shirt with buttons
2. Baby-clothing with snappers
3. Sweater with zipper
4. Belt with buckle
5. Shoe with laces
6. Jeans with hook & eye
7. Shoes with velcro
8. Pants with drawstrings (bow)
9. Basket or box

Tips:

Instead of presenting the whole basket, take out each piece of item and demonstrate it on a tray as an activity for younger preschoolers. Thus, the above items will provide 8 activities :-)

Additional Information:

It is not necessary to buy the expensive Montessori dressing frames. Create your own Dressing Basket for your child with real items instead.
