Nutritional Value:
The blue pigment that tints blueberries (and other blue/purple fruits and vegetables) are also known as anthocyanin, is an anti-oxidant with cancer-fighting properties. It is also anti-inflammatory, and may help to prevent diabetes. Therefore, regularly including fruits and vegetables containing anthocyanin in meals can add diverse nutrients and help to prevent disease.

Blueberries also contain other phytochemicals which may have health benefits, such as preventing Alzheimer's disease.

Other studies have shown that eating more blueberries is linked with improved memory function and healthy aging.
