Montessori Activity: Cutting Meat with Scissors



Age: From 6 years old

Activity Duration: 5-15 minutes

Objective(s):

1. To train the child’s fine motor skills
2. To inculcate life skills

Materials:

1. 1 pair of scissors
2. 2 pieces of meat (I use beef shanks here, since we are making it for dinner, but you can use any whole piece of meat)
3. 1 bowl
4. 1 tray

Directions:

1. Demonstrate to your child by cutting the first piece of meat with the scissors.

2. Let your child try to cut the next piece of meat, and do not mind about the unevenness in sizes.
