Chocolate Milk


Serves 1

Ingredients:
1. 2 tsp cacao powder
2. 1 cup (250 ml) fresh skimmed milk
3. 1/4 tsp vanilla powder (optional)
4. 1 tsp flax seeds ground (optional)
5. 2 dried dates pitted

Directions:
Add all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.

Additional Information:
This chocolate milk is relatively healthier, as it does not contain any sugar, except from the dates. Chocolate milk is a rare treat at our home, but that might be changing... if you absolutely cannot do without sugar or dislike dates, use 1 tsp of maple syrup or add 1-3 dates in place of the dates.

Trust me, the ground flax seeds really enhances the creaminess and richness of the chocolate milk, and make it more chocolaty. But if you don't like flax seeds, you can easily leave it out, without compromising on the flavor.

I sometimes add 1/4 cup of rolled oats and 1/4 chopped almond into the blender along with the other ingredients to make it a breakfast meal.
