Reflection: Lesson from the Charlie Hebdo episode

I should be sticking to my domestic domain, but I can't help putting my two sense worth on politics, as it has teaching implication on our children.

Some kill with their words and drawings, some kill with their hands. They are all not right. All ended in death, sad.

Be careful and consider: When we call ourselves "Je suis Charlie", what are we teaching our children?

We would be teaching them that it is alright to kill others with words and drawings... and then risking them being killed by rage and the whole cycle of never-ending revenge. That is not a very positive message to teach kids.

We need to teach our children from this tragic episode that with freedom of speech comes responsibility. No one has the right to use insult others under the disguise of freedom of speech.

The Bible says in James 3:7-8:

All kinds of animals, birds, reptiles and sea creatures are being tamed and have been tamed by mankind, 8but no human being can tame the tongue. It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.
