According to the book Play & Learn: 1001 Fun Activities for Your Baby and Child (Gymboree Play & Music), Baby is most interested in faces. Show pictures with faces of kids. Draw a simple smiling face on a paper plate. Hole it 20-40 cm from Baby's face. Move it side to side. Today, J made these faces as present for Baby.
