Hang a sensory toy within 20 cm of Baby's view. When Baby is 1-2 months old, she can focus her eyes and follow a toy that you move around in front of her. If you pass a rattle in front of her face, it will transfix her.
I love especially the Lamaze baby developmental toys for the color and sight sensory experience that they provide.
Note: This toy should of course be hanging facing Baby. It is facing us for picture-taking purpose :-)
