The Awesome Avocado/鳄梨[è lí]/牛油果[niú yóu guǒ]

This is picture is showing an unripe avocado, sorry

For babies from 5 months.

If there is only one single baby food that I would choose to introduce to J, it would be the awesome Avocado due to its health benefits and convenience.

Directions:
1. Pick a ripe (should be dark green and not brown) but not over-ripe avocado and mash it with a fork or blender.

2. Stir in a little formula milk until desired consistency preferred by baby (optional)

Nutritional Value:
Avocado is well known for its high vitamin K and Vitamin A content. It also contains small amounts of Vitamin B, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Biotin, and Folate. It is rich in minerals such as copper, magnesium, manganese, and contains some amounts of iron, calcium, iodine, selenium, zinc and phosphorus. It contains dietary fibers.

In addition, avocado contains complete protein with all the essential amino acids.

Avocados contain notable levels of vitamin B-6, but less than bananas.

Avocados contain oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat that may help to lower cholesterol.

Additional Information:
Avocado is nature's baby first food. It doesn't need to be cooked, is very convenient, doesn't have a strong taste and is full of nutrients and the fats that baby needs - even the healthy type of fats :-) You don't need a kitchen. You can prepare it anywhere, even when you are out with baby.

For baby before 6 months old, introducing solid should be treated more like food sampling, rather than full force eating solid food. This is because it is best that baby should get its food solely from breast milk for the first 6 months.

Express out breast milk

Take one scoop of ripe avocado from a tea spoon

Place it in a dish

Mash it with a fork

Then add a little breast milk or formula milk and mix well with a fork

Ready to feed baby :-)

According to the Danish health nurse, unless your baby is 6 months old, don't use the baby chair. Feed baby by holding her or having her seated in a baby bouncer.

We were all excited to see her reaction, whether she would like it. Baby C seemed to like it.

C finished the whole saucer :-)
