Spend 5 minutes with God daily

In the busy daily life, I find that I am better able to weather it with good humour if I have committed my day to God in the morning. And usually too, my day goes more smoothly and ends more productive. I try to do it in the morning before J wakes up, as it sets the tone for the rest of the day.

I try to begin with a prayer, then read the Bible and end with a prayer.

What do I pray for?

I give thanks for a new day to live, and I thank God for a new day with my loved ones around me. I pray for the energy and strength to go through a very hectic day. I pray for my to-do list, and that God will help me to remember the important things. I pray for Florian. I pray for our marriage. I pray that despite of our weaknesses as parents, God will give us wisdom and help us to have the ability to bring J up to be a man of character. I pray for good ideas in problem-solving. I pray for patience. I pray for wisdom in conducting myself. I pray for forgiveness for my shortfall... such as complaining about people. I pray for my friends and others in need.

I am very sad that my sister, brother, father, husband have all backslided or have become very lukewarm, but I know I MUST NEVER give up. I must go on and resist being lukewarm towards God. I can only do so by setting an example and trusting God to bring them back. And I cling on to God's promise in Acts 16: 31 that if I believe in Him, me and my household, my nearest loved ones, they will be saved.

"Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you and your household." - Acts 16:31

It is not an easy thing for me to shut out the noise and focus on God, but this is the most important thing to me. May I always remember this and practise it.
