Introducing the "characters" behind the Asian dishes...

From left to right:

1. Sawadeeka, I am Light Soya Sauce (Healthy Boy Brand with Mushroom flavour)... and I come from Thailand... use me for the Singaporean/Malaysian Chinese Popiah, the fried glass noodles and the Chinese Soya Ginger Chicken with Mushrooms dishes.

2. Lei hou, my name is Lee Kum Kee Dark Soya Sauce... I originated from Hong Kong... and I am indispensable for the Singaporean/Malaysian Chinese Popiah, the fried glass noodles and the Chinese Soya Ginger Chicken with Mushrooms dishes :-)

3. Ni hao, this is Miss. Light Chinese Rice Wine (Shao Hsing Hua Tiao Chiew) from China... I am a good company to the fried glass noodles and the Chinese Soya Ginger Chicken with Mushrooms dishes :-)

4. Hi, you can call me Mr. Dark Chinese Rice Wine (Pearl and black glutinous rice wine)... I am also from China... and you can't do without me for the Chinese Soya Ginger Chicken with Mushrooms dish!

5. And here is Yeo's Pure Sesame Oil... your old reliable pal from Singapore... I am terrific for the fried glass noodles and the Chinese Soya Ginger Chicken with Mushrooms dishes :-)

6. Last but not least, my name is Lee Kum Kee Oyster Sauce... I like to be cold (needs to be refrigerated after opening), but I add a touch of flavour to the fried glass noodles and the Chinese Soya Ginger Chicken with Mushrooms dishes ;-)

7. Oops... chotto matte kudasai (wait a moment!)... how could we forget the King of all sauces - the Japanese Kikkoman Light Soya Sauce!!! There it is in the second picture.

Oops... we almost forget the Dark Chinese Rice Vinegar... made from glutinous rice... here it is!

This is Soy Bean Paste (Healthy Boy Brand)... use me for making the popiah sauce

Hi, I am the Japanese mirin... basically made of rice wine and sugar... Use me when you want to create the charred flavor found for example in the Chinese fried rice served at the hawker centres in Singapore :-)
