Salmon Pasta/Laks Pasta/意鲑鱼佩斯托沙司大利面
Serves 4
Preparation & Cooking Time: 25 minutes
Ingredients:
- 250g fresh salmon
- 2 cups of organic whole grain pasta
- 1 teaspoon of olive oil
- Himalayan salt and a dash of oregano (optional)
- 1 litre of water
- 100ml of pesto sauce (see previous picture for recipe)
Directions:
1. Sprinkle salt and oregano on salmon (optional, but don’t add salt to the piece of salmon for baby)
2. Bake salmon in pre-heated oven at 180 degree Celsius for 20 minutes (you can also fry the salmon, but it is healthier to bake, and baking retains more of its nutrients).
3. Boil water, add in pasta and a teaspoon of olive oil and boil for 8-10 minutes.
4. Toss pasta, salmon and pesto sauce together and serve
For babies:
From 10 months (but without the pesto dressing).
Nutritional Value:
Salmon is high in protein, heme iron, vitamin B12, vitamin B6, niacin, phosphorous, potassium, copper and Omega-3s. There are three kinds of Omega-3s in salmon--docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and alpha-linoleic acid (ALA). Like most fish, there are no carbohydrates in salmon.
